Miss Black Country 2010 – the previous winner

Miss Black Country 2010 – the previous winner

It’s been a rollercoaster year for the winner of Miss Black Country 2010. Andrea Sturmey  from Cedar Court Penn, was absolutely delighted after taking the crown at Wolverhampton Racecourse in April last year. But what has the beauty from the Midlands been up to since then and how has the competition changed her life? We caught up with her to find out more…

“Winning Miss Black Country has been one of the greatest achievements to date, a memory that I will always cherish. My family have been extremely proud of me gaining this title and how I have used it over the past year. I have been involved in many amazing things such as working with Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club, various fundraising activities including Opening the Acorns Charity shop in Wolverhampton. I mustn’t forget being a part of Miss England 2010, what an amazing experience that was!”

With the finals for the 2011 Miss Black Country being held at Wolverhampton Racecourse again this year, Andrea had these words of advice “I am very excited to meet the 10 finalists and look forward to Judging them all on Saturday night. I hope to find a girl worthy enough who wants to be seen as an ambassador for The Black Country. One who shows natural beauty inside and out and will cherish her title for the next year. Advice to the girls would be to make sure you are yourselves, enjoy every minute and also be prepared to work hard!”

Nathan Corden, Head of Commercial Development for Wolverhampton Racecourse said “It will be great to see Andrea again, she has been a great ambassador for the region over the past twelve months, and we are sure Miss Black Country 2011 will do just as good a job”.
